From enjoying Japanese food to cooking it

I love Asian food, I’ve been a fan for years and I’ve been thinking ever since that cooking it is impossible. I’m especially keen on Japanese food which has always been a mystery to me. Until now, when I found a blog: “Quick and easy Japanese Home Cooking” So, I took her word for it and tried one of her recipes, after all, she says it’s quick and EASY 🙂

OK, so first thing I do, look at the ingredients, realize I have no idea what 70% mean or what is their purpose. Never mind that, I made the shopping list, looked up Japanese stores in Brussels and just went to the one that seemed to be most popular (Tagawa). Indeed, when I got there it was 90% Japanese populated, which was enough proof for me that it was legit. Obviously, I just gave my list to probably the owner who helped me get everything I needed and off we went.

As I said I found that blog on easy Japanese and having all the ingredients I probably finished the recipe in about 40 minutes. I tried Chicken Katsu Don. The result was great and Fernando and I liked it so much that I did it again the second day. To be honest, I’m not sure how close it is to the original, but I am sure that it tastes Japanese 🙂 (close enough)

Enough talk, behold my work of art. Second time it tasted even better. So, my encouragement for today, if you like it so much, go for it, cook it, make it, it taste better than the restaurant cause you added your effort 🙂
